About Dr. Qi Luo

Dr. Qi Luo is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at Aalborg University . His research focuses on sustainable and multifunctional cementitious materials at the intersection of cement chemistry, microbial systems, and energy materials.

Prior to joining Aalborg University, he held research positions at Aarhus University, the National University of Singapore, and Chongqing Jiaotong University, and was awarded a Humboldt Fellowship at RWTH Aachen University. He received his PhD in 2020 through a joint doctoral program between the University of California, Irvine (USA) and Guangxi University (China).

 In 2025, he received the Young Researcher Award of the International Conference on Damage Mechanics (ICDM), a prestigious award given every two years to one researcher worldwide under the age of 40.
