C-BEAM Lab

Cement Bio-Energy Advanced Materials Lab

Making cement a little more alive

Welcome to the C-BEAM Lab at Aalborg University.

We engineer cement that can store energy and host microbial life.

Research Interests

  • Living cement scaffolds for microbes

  • Microbial cement-based supercapacitors

  • Low-carbon cementitious binders

  • Life-cycle assessment (LCA) of building materials

Research Interestes

Our research focuses on developing sustainable and multifunctional cementitious materials at the intersection of cement chemistry, microbial systems, and energy materials.

We explore topics including cement-based energy storage materials, low-carbon cementitious binders, and life-cycle and techno-economic assessment of construction materials, aiming to transform traditional infrastructure materials into functional and sustainable systems.

Meet the Team

C-BEAM Lab is building a vibrant and ambitious research team.

The team is currently growing, and we warmly welcome motivated students, postdoctoral researchers, and collaborators who are excited to push boundaries and contribute to impactful research.
